Cyprus & Larnaca

Cyprus is justly called “the crossroads of the Mediterranean”

The history of Cyprus stretches back to the copper age, in fact Cyprus was once famous for its exports of copper and copper implements when the island was a part of the Roman empire.

Larnaca, Larnaka or "Scala" as it is affectionately known, is the site of the ancient town of Kition and Cyprus major centre for international travel with the International Airport just ten minutes away by road.
Our clinic is just outside the town centre overlooking the park.
The national tongue is a dialect of Greek, but due to the island's history and extensive tourism, English is a very common second language. In fact, just about any language you care to mention can be found here from Russian to Finnish!

Flag of the European Union

Our earliest recorded history dates back to the Pharaoh Ptolemy who had Cyprus as part of his empire.
Richard the Lionhearted crowned his queen here during the crusades and the island was a British possession until 1960 when Cyprus became the Republic of Cyprus and an independent nation it its own right.
2003 saw Cyprus' European Union accession confirmed and now (2004) Cyprus is a full member of the E.U. and proud of it!

The town and its surrounding districts offer a variety of places of interest from modern clubs and cabarets to museums and places of archaeological interest. Opportunities for shopping abound with clothes, ceramics, electronics and all of the myriad of items you would anticipate in a major seaside town. Plus the Cypriot specialities of gold and silver filigree jewellery, Lefkara lace and restaurants serving all the local dishes as well as a wide range of more familiar foods from authentic Chinese to fish and chips. Larnaca boasts a long, sandy beach with a promenade where you can stroll in the evenings and enjoy the local coffee, an ice cream or a range of international specialities whilst looking out at the sea.
